Reporting a bug

Show us what happened.

The most useful report tells us what you were trying to do and gives us a way to see the same problem.

    Your operating system and its version.

  3. 03

    What you tried, what you expected, and what happened.

  4. 04

    The MIDI file or .hkn project that reproduces the issue, if possible.

    A screenshot or short screen recording, if it helps show the problem.

Only send a project or MIDI file when it helps explain the issue. HarmonyKeen never sends those files to us automatically.

Uninstalling

Removing HarmonyKeen.

On Windows

Open Settings, then Apps, then Installed apps. Find HarmonyKeen and choose Uninstall. That removes the app and the plugin together. Nothing else to do.

On macOS

macOS has no built-in uninstaller for apps that install plugins, so HarmonyKeen is removed by deleting four items. It takes a minute.

The app is easy: drag it from Applications to the Trash. For the two plugin folders, in Finder choose Go, then Go to Folder, paste /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins, and delete the HarmonyKeen items you find in VST3 and Components. macOS will ask for your password, because those folders are shared by everyone who uses the Mac.

Your license key is stored separately and is not removed by any of this. If you reinstall later you won't need to enter it again.

What is never touched

Your projects and saved harmonies, and any other company's plugins. Only the four HarmonyKeen items above are removed.

After uninstalling

If your DAW still lists HarmonyKeen, rescan your plugins. The entry is left over from before and now points at nothing. This applies on both Windows and macOS.
